Employee grants announcement

This year, TAMEH Czech once again announced employee grants in which a total of 80,000 crowns were distributed. The company's employees had the opportunity to propose projects in the Ostrava region in which they are personally involved and devote their time.

In the end, the committee decided to support three of the projects, and on 19 June a festive meeting of representatives of the selected associations and the company's management took place, during which donation agreements were signed and cheques were handed over.

The highest amount was awarded to PRAPOS. It provides social services in outpatient and field form to people with mental and combined disabilities who use the Day Services Centre. The care support is directed so that the clients can stay in their natural environment for as long as possible without having to use institutional facilities. They attend the Centre daily from 6:30am-4:30pm, where they have fixed morning blocks (working in the workshops). The association plans to use the forty thousand crowns contribution to improve and expand the ways in which the clients can use their free time outside of the fixed daily programme. Thirty-two clients of the centre can thus look forward to playing bowling, electronic darts, table tennis, for example, as well as taking part in tournaments, of which there will be approximately eight this year.

Twenty thousand crowns were awarded to the association SK SVINOV. It is a sports club focused on table tennis, mainly by educating young people. This year the club will organize a table tennis camp for children and youth. During the daily two-phase training sessions, the children will also have the opportunity to play with an experienced table tennis player and thus possibly improve their strokes training.

The third supported group is the association ZJ Lhota u Opavy, which organizes the 14th year of the volleyball tournament. The tournament will be held on 2 grass and 2 clay courts and a total of 16 teams will participate. Teams from Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Opava, for example, are coming to the tournament and players of all categories, children, adults and seniors are participating.
